- The Consultant TV Show: That was 8 episodes of WTAF!
To be fair, it was produced by the same folks that did Mr. Robot and we all know how disturbing that was.
Potential Spoilers Here:
Where to start?
This show pushed the boundaries of TV in a lot of ways and I think that you can get as much out of it as you want. In other words, just watch it OR watch it and really think about it. 😱 Viewer Beware 😱
At Episode #2, I wanted to stop watching. My wife said it was too dark for her and she stepped away. That is funny b/c she is horror queen and this was not horror. It was just well DARK. But, I kept watching and honestly.. NO REGRETS
Was this a show about the struggle of being a failed or failing entrepreneur?
Maybe. At least it addressed the dark side of this world even if only at the beginning and the end. Being a business owner when things are amazing is easy but it gets dark real quick when things are going poorly. My biggest takeaway was that we need to stop obsessing about legacy.
Can well at least AGREE on THIS?
Also, if your tool makes people punch their hand through glass all around the world, just STOP. 🪟🥊
Also, while on the topic: Just NO to the ELEPHANT. That is just bad.
Regus Patoff
I won't even get into the storyline with his bones. That is some Weird Stuff but I think after reading up a bit that this symbolizes GREED. 🤮🔱
Is he the devil? Yes, likely.
He terrified me for sure.
Is he a savior of some sort? Not to me but then again, that ending!!
I think that he enjoys causing chaos and bringing out the worst in people. BUT along the way, everyone has a choice....
Well, maybe no one has a choice because he has special POWERS. I mean there is no way that Patti would have sat in that basement typing like that otherwise.
Choices
The thing that gets me about the show though is that in the end, it seems that everyone made the choices that they really really wanted to make all along. Maybe they each just wanted to be able to say "The Devil Made Me Do It" so that they didn't feel bad about it.
The ending
The ending is what really has me thinking. IF Regus is the devil then why did he seem so pleased in the end? It was as if he left the entire place better off than when he got there.
